So, I've been inspired by some college friends to blog about being a mom.... here goes nothing! They are doing a fabulous job, so I can't compete with them, but this is my view on the world!
First of all, a little background on me: I'm a married 29 year old stay-ish at home mom (work the weekends) with 2 adorable children - Jack (6) and Peyton (2 1/2). My kids and my husband make me bat-shit crazy as none of them seem to have any common sense, but I love them dearly and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I'm going to start with the blog a day challenge that KatiedidABlog just finished and seeing as this is April 1st, what better time to start!
Day 1: A Favorite Song
I LOVE music. My iPod is on half the day (at a low volume so I can still hear my children!). It helps me get through the day of cleaning and laundry and I dance around and sing loudly until my kids ask me to stop. Currently, my FAVORITE song is part of my one and only way to exercise: Zumba. We do a dance to "Drop it Low" from Esther Dean ft Chris Brown that is essentially 5 minutes of squats. It has an insanely catchy beat that makes you wanna move and the choreography in Zumba really works the butt so that its getting back into pre-pregnancy shape!
Some of my classic favorite songs include:
ANYTHING by Marc Anthony : He could sing the phone book and I would buy it.
Regulators by Nate Dogg and Warren G: Can still sing all the lyrics RIP Nate Dogg!
Very Special by Big Daddy Kane and Spinderella: More 90's hip hop.
Edge of Desire by John Mayer: Sucker for his voice.
Best Imitation of Myself by Ben Folds: another voice I love
And since this is a blog about my life as a mom...
Kids songs that don't suck:
Anything from The Fresh Beat Band
Most of The Laurie Berkner Band
Phineas and Ferb Soundtracks
