Now this is something I can talk about! TV shows aren't much longer than an hour and by fast forwarding through commercials, I can watch without getting crazy! Also, I can do things while I watch them (like folding laundry which I should be doing right now) and pause when the kids run in, and I can change the show as I please!
I have a tivo, which I recommend to anyone who has kids and loves tv because my tivo is running almost all day from 6am until 2 am every day. So I'm going to break this down into categories, just like the emmy's!
Favorite Morning Show: Good Morning CT, love the whole crew and tivo it every morning because I am not getting up at 6:30 to watch it.
Favorite Daytime Talk Show: It has been the View for the longest time, but lately I haven't been into it as much. I feel like they are all getting a little self serving and their "view" is getting skewed by that.
Favorite Soap: Hands Down, General Hospital! Have been watching since I was 13 and while it has had its ups and downs, the past few weeks have been amazing with the Jake's death storyline!
Favorite Sports Talk Show: Pardon The Interruption. Love the banter between Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon. It's kinda the only way I get information on sports. My husband tivos this every day.
Favorite Drama: Has to be a tie between Sons of Anarchy and Mad Men. Jax Teller is the dirtiest hot boy ever and how can you not love Don Draper.
Favorite Comedy: This is a toss up between a few shows: "Community", "30 Rock", "Parks and Rec" and "The Big Bang Theory" All oddly on Thursday which makes it a pretty long night...
Favorite Late Night Talk Show: Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Letterman will always have a place in my heart as I grew up watching it (My dad worked over nights and would tape it and watch it in the morning), but Fallon uses a lot of pop culture references from when I was growing up (Like when he got The California Dreams back together!) and I can't help but love the Roots!

Day 2: A Favorite Movie
I can't sit through movies. I just can't. Never have been able to. I always feel like I could be doing something more with my time! I get antsy after about 45 minutes and need to get moving! However, when I get sick or when I'm super tired, I have been known to be able to sit through a few shorter movies, even if I fall asleep partway through.
One of my favorites has to be the movie I saw with my husband on our first date : "Love Actually". Favorite Kid Movie: Despicable Me.
And that's the shortest post because I am getting antsy even writing about movies and I must move on! lol

Day 1: Let's try this out....
So, I've been inspired by some college friends to blog about being a mom.... here goes nothing! They are doing a fabulous job, so I can't compete with them, but this is my view on the world!
First of all, a little background on me: I'm a married 29 year old stay-ish at home mom (work the weekends) with 2 adorable children - Jack (6) and Peyton (2 1/2). My kids and my husband make me bat-shit crazy as none of them seem to have any common sense, but I love them dearly and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I'm going to start with the blog a day challenge that KatiedidABlog just finished and seeing as this is April 1st, what better time to start!
Day 1: A Favorite Song
I LOVE music. My iPod is on half the day (at a low volume so I can still hear my children!). It helps me get through the day of cleaning and laundry and I dance around and sing loudly until my kids ask me to stop. Currently, my FAVORITE song is part of my one and only way to exercise: Zumba. We do a dance to "Drop it Low" from Esther Dean ft Chris Brown that is essentially 5 minutes of squats. It has an insanely catchy beat that makes you wanna move and the choreography in Zumba really works the butt so that its getting back into pre-pregnancy shape!
Some of my classic favorite songs include:
ANYTHING by Marc Anthony : He could sing the phone book and I would buy it.
Regulators by Nate Dogg and Warren G: Can still sing all the lyrics RIP Nate Dogg!
Very Special by Big Daddy Kane and Spinderella: More 90's hip hop.
Edge of Desire by John Mayer: Sucker for his voice.
Best Imitation of Myself by Ben Folds: another voice I love
And since this is a blog about my life as a mom...
Kids songs that don't suck:
Anything from The Fresh Beat Band
Most of The Laurie Berkner Band
Phineas and Ferb Soundtracks
